Wedoany.com Report-Feb 4, The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has issued a planning approval decision for the construction of Iberdrola’s 315MW Windanker offshore wind project in the Baltic Sea.
In Rostock, the decision was handed over to Iberdrola Deutschland CEO Felipe Montero, Project Director Jesus Rodriguez de diego Zamorano and Sergej Drechsel, Head of Offshore Development, by the leader of the proceedings, Jeannette Edler.
Windanker is scheduled to be commissioned in 2026 and is part of Iberdrola’s Baltic Hub, which will have a total capacity 1.1GW including the Wikinger and Baltic Eagle offshore wind farms.
Kansai will hold a 49% stake in the offshore wind farm, while Iberdrola will retain control with the remaining 51%.
The Windanker wind farm will feature 21 wind turbines with a unit power of 15MW and has already sold 100% of its production through long-term contracts.
