Canada Maintains Strong Canola Exports

2025-04-28 16:27

Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 28, Canola exports from Canada are continuing at a strong pace, despite concerns about potential U.S. tariffs. In the first two weeks of April, Canada shipped 516,000 tonnes of canola, according to Oil World and the Canadian Grain Commission. This trend of robust exports continued through the period from April 7 to 13.

For the month of April, exports are forecasted to exceed 800,000 tonnes. This would bring total canola exports for the season to 7.5 million tonnes, a significant increase compared to 4.5 million tonnes in the same period last year and well above the five-year average of 6.3 million tonnes.

However, there are expectations that canola stocks in Canada will decline sharply by the end of July 2025. The forecasted stock level is projected to be between 1.4 and 1.5 million tonnes, a substantial drop from the 3 million tonnes recorded at the same time the previous year.

These figures highlight the ongoing strength of Canada’s canola export market, despite the uncertainty around trade tariffs.
