2025-05-09 10:13

Wedoany.com Report-May 9, Nordex, a leading wind turbine manufacturer, has secured its first contract from GETEC Green Energy to deliver a 49MW wind project in Germany. The project involves the expansion of the Zerbst wind farm, located on a former military airfield in Saxony-Anhalt’s city of Zerbst.

Under the agreement, Nordex will supply and install seven N163/6.X turbines from its Delta4000 series. Installation is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026, with the turbines mounted on 164-meter hybrid towers to optimize energy capture. Nordex will also provide maintenance services for the turbines over a 20-year period, ensuring long-term operational efficiency.

Karsten Brüggemann, Vice President Region Central of Nordex Group, stated: “We are pleased to partner with GETEC Green Energy on this significant project in Saxony-Anhalt. The Zerbst wind farm expansion demonstrates our shared commitment to advancing renewable energy in Germany, and we look forward to delivering reliable, high-performance turbines for this site.”

The Zerbst wind farm expansion aligns with GETEC Green Energy’s efforts to enhance sustainable energy production in the region. The site’s location on a repurposed airfield provides ample space for the wind farm, minimizing land use conflicts while contributing to Germany’s renewable energy goals. The N163/6.X turbines are designed for high efficiency, offering robust performance in varying wind conditions.

Dr. Robert Stadler, Managing Director of GETEC Green Energy, commented: “The cooperation with Nordex allows us to further expand our renewable energy portfolio in an efficient and sustainable manner. The Zerbst wind farm will play a key role in supporting the energy transition in Saxony-Anhalt, and we are confident in Nordex’s expertise to deliver this project successfully.”

The project marks a significant step in strengthening the regional energy infrastructure, with the 49MW capacity expected to supply clean electricity to thousands of households. The use of hybrid towers reflects an innovative approach to maximizing energy output while maintaining structural stability in the region’s wind conditions.

Nordex’s long-term service commitment ensures the turbines will operate reliably, contributing to the wind farm’s role in reducing carbon emissions. The Zerbst project underscores the growing collaboration between Nordex and GETEC Green Energy to support renewable energy development in Germany, leveraging advanced technology and strategic site selection to meet sustainability objectives.
