Wedoany.com Report-Apr. 29, Boviet Solar, a Vietnamese solar panel manufacturer, has launched its first U.S. factory in Greenville, North Carolina. The state-of-the-art facility, built with a $294 million investment, produces Gamma Series monofacial and Vega Series bifacial solar panels. These panels, powered by advanced PERC and N-Type solar cell technologies, deliver high efficiency for residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-scale applications.

The Greenville plant’s first phase is operational, boasting an annual photovoltaic (PV) module production capacity of 2 gigawatts (GW). For Phase 2, scheduled for completion in the second half of 2026, Boviet will invest an additional $100 million to expand the facility by 600,000 square feet, adding another 2 GW of capacity focused on high-efficiency solar cells. Once both phases are complete, the campus will span over 1 million square feet, encompassing manufacturing and research spaces, marking it as one of North Carolina’s largest clean energy initiatives.

The factory significantly contributes to Pitt County’s economy. The initial phase has generated 460 skilled jobs, with Phase 2 expected to create 908 more, totaling over 1,300 direct jobs. Additionally, nearly 2,000 indirect jobs are anticipated in related sectors, boosting local workforce training, real estate, and economic development.

Senator Kandie Smith highlighted the broader impact, stating: “This facility is not just creating jobs, but creating opportunity, innovation, and a stronger foundation for eastern North Carolina.” Governor Josh Stein emphasized the state’s role in sustainable energy, noting: “Boviet Solar’s move shows how North Carolina is leading the way in clean energy growth.”

Boviet Solar’s investment reflects its commitment to addressing the rising demand for renewable energy in the U.S. while fostering economic and technological progress in North Carolina. The Greenville facility strengthens the company’s position in the global solar market, delivering advanced PV solutions to diverse sectors.
